Blurring the Lines between Art & Illumination with Hotel Lighting Designer Illuminationworks

Next door to Zaha Hadid’s Center for Contemporary Art, 21c Museum Hotel Cincinnati is a dramatic revision of a historic 1912 hotel. Breathing new life into the building, Illuminationworks introduces contemporary lighting design and new lighting technologies to sensitively highlight historic features. Restoring its original grandeur still intact, new spaces were added to create a thoughtful and textured sequence of rooms. Restoring historic spaces to their original grandeur along with newly-created spaces provide a rich background for the art. Art galleries are lit via museum quality standards allowing maximum flexibility to light pieces of varying scale. At restaurant, Metropole, illumination works beautifully to create mood & atmosphere with custom decorative pendants and spotlights to highlight each table.
